Our Winter Solstice Event 2022
Come and join us on this very special night – the turning of the year – for our 2022 Solstice Celebration on 21st December 2022.
We will all meet up at the Dallington Recreation Ground at 7/7.30pm, enjoy some mulled wine (if you prefer, bring your own), spuds in jackets and sausages.
We will light the beacon and and start to spread the Christmas Cheer.

Rother District Council- Leisure Provision Consultation
Rother District Council are consulting on their proposed 10 year strategy for outdoor and indoor leisure facilities around Rother.
Your views will help them adopt a new strategy to shape the future of leisure in Rother.

Flood Alert!
Just received from Rother District Council.
A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.
Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.
Be prepared.
River levels have risen as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected from 12:30 today, Thursday 3 November 2022 and will remain high for the rest of the day. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane and low lying land and roads along the River Rother, particularly around Robertsbridge.
Further rainfall is forecast overnight into Friday, 4 November 2022. We are continuing to monitor the situation and our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from the rivers.
This message will be updated by 20:00, or as the situation changes.

Village Hall Events November 2022
After a very successful quiz night in October, here is the calendar for November:
- Saturday 5th Library Cafe 10-12noon
(our monthly Saturday morning opening) - Thursday 24th Christmas Wreath Workshop 10am -12 noon
Come and make a Christmas Wreath with Frances Gorringe & Pauline Ridley. Materials will be provided, but please bring any decorations you would like to include. £5 per head – proceeds to village hall.
In addition our regular weekly activities continue as follows:
- Mondays Art Club 10am -12noon; Library Cafe 2pm-4pm
- Thursdays Yoga class 8-9pm
- Fridays Chair Yoga 11am -12 noon

A quick reminder about tomorrow’s Quiz Night and reassurance that despite the road closure signs still visible – The Street is not closed – there may still be a short single lane section outside the school, but full access to the Village Hall is available in both directions.
