Bulb planting at the triangle

Photo of three people trimming and plantingOn a cold and sleety morning four parish councillors (Nicky Holyoake, Jim Gray, Nick Harding and Pauline Ridley)  met up at the triangle at the top of The Street to strim the grass and plant a selection of spring bulbs. We will be carrying out more work  over the next few months and adding more planting  to improve the appearance of the triangle.

ESCC Highways – Drainage Works at Redpale

ESCC Highways will be carrying out drainage works at Redpale, starting on 06.12.21 and continuing for five days.
Due to nature of the works, Redpale will be closed to through traffic 24 hours a day for the duration of the works.  ESCC Highways will be working from the junction of Farthing Lane to approximately 500m north.  Traffic will be diverted via North Road, Trumpet Lane, White Horse Road, Bodle Street Road, Rookery Lane, the B2096, South Lane, Bluekiln Road and vice versa.

Parking at entrance to Glaziers Forge

We have received some concerns from Glaziers Forge residents about cars parking right in front of the waste bins on the B2096 at the entrance to Glaziers Forge and leaving them there for some time.
The Glaziers Forge residents do park their cars in front of the bins when they are putting waste in them, but only do this for the time needed – a minute or two – then move their cars away.
It also means that the Glaziers Forge residents have to walk quite a way with heavy and bulky waste to get to the bins.
The unknown parked cars also make it very difficult for the Glaziers Forge residents to pull out, sightlines are poor anyway and these parked cars make it much worse.
We can only assume that the people parking cars in front of the bins are walking in Dallington Forest, which is great – but please in future do not park your cars in front of the bins.
