See the separate “Roads in and around Dallington” page for information about local roads, location of grit bins etc. Articles and announcements (for instance, about temporary road closures) will be posted on this site as we receive them.
It is now possible to report anti-social driving to the Police.
To report you need the registration number and, where possible, the make, model and colour of the vehicle. You then contact either www.operationcrackdown.org. or 01243 63 2222
useful information about winter road safety
East Sussex Fire and Rescue have produced some helpful advice for keeping safe on the roads during winter weather
Dallington is served by the very limited 225 Service which runs between Crowborough and Battle on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. For a timetable and more information see https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/public/buses/routes/
For further information about public transport in this area, including discount schemes, please see the East Sussex County Council site at http://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/public/
The nearest rail stations are approximately 15 minutes drive from Dallington, and are all on the Hastings to London (Charing Cross/Cannon Street) line. All trains stop at Battle; Etchingham, Robertsbridge and Stonegate have a more limited service, but may be more convenient for travel and parking.
For timetables and fares see the National Rail Enquiries site.
Car sharing and lifts
We don’t have a formal community transport scheme, but most people are very willing to give lifts to neighbours – you usually only have to ask!
Nearest community transport schemes can be found at https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/roadsandtransport/public/communitytransport/heathfieldarea/
